Jimmy Rogers musical journey began back when the use of Aqua Net was excessive and spandex pants allowed for little modesty. As front man for Boston’s best kept secret, Taupier (toe-pierre), Jimmy slugged it out in legendary and no longer existent halls like Bunratty’s, The Channel, and Narcissus, to name a few, back when Extreme had reached an explosive level on the New England scene. In the early 90’s, Taupier headed West for a production deal in Hollywood, CA to record their never-to-be-released debut album. One stint at the world famous Troubadour, the band had secured management out of Dublin, Ireland (of all places). They returned back home to Boston to accommodate the overseas team. After a brief “shopping trip”, management…well, vanished…never to be heard from again. Apparently, they took “NO” for an answer. Anyway, the ever-revolving door of bass players and drummers continued to spin, and Taupier eventually imploded. Oh, sure! A couple of them went on to play with bands like Godsmack and Puddle of Mudd, but I’m not bitter…I digress (I apologize, also, for stepping out of the 3rd person narrative). For the next few years, Jimmy and the band’s namesake, Joe Taupier, continued to write and record bi-coastally. Most recently Jimmy has performed with Boston area tribute acts, Juice In The Machine and Velvet Elvis with legendary musicians from iconic acts like Farrenheit, The Fools, and Beatlejuice. What’s next, you ask? Jimmy has yet to attain his quest of Burt Bachrach status. There is an unfinished boxed set of shlocky-yet-commercially viable material yet to be released....Stay tuned.
